VISION THERAPY

Vision therapy is an individualized Supervised, non surgical treatment program designed to correct eye movements and visual motor deficiencies. WHAT IS AMBLYOPIA (LAZY EYE)?

Amblyopia, commonly known as LAZY EYE, is the eye condition noted by reduced vision not corrected by glasses, contact lenses and surgery.

CAUSES OF LAZY EYE

Anything that interferes with clear vision in either eye during the critical period (BIRTH TO 6 YEARS OF AGE) can cause lazy eye. The most common causes of lazy eye are

1. Constant strabismus (Constant turn of one eye).
2. Anisometropia (Different vision / Prescription in each eye)
3. Blockage of an eye due to cataract, Trauma, Lid droops etc.

Low vision is a visual impairment, not correctable by standard glasses, contact lenses, medicine, or surgery, that interferes with a person's ability to perform everyday activities.

What causes low vision?

Low vision can result from a variety of diseases, disorders, and injuries that affect the eye. Many people with low vision have age-related macular degeneration, cataract, glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy. Age-related macular degeneration accounts for almost 45 percent of all cases of low vision.
