Dr. Shalini Jain, an alumna of L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, completed her fellowship in optometry between 1998 and 2000. She further pursued and attained her Ph.D. in Clinical Optometry from Churu, Rajasthan. Her journey in revolutionizing eye care commenced in 2010 with the establishment of the Dr. Shalini Jain’s Samyak Eye Care Clinic, a hub for comprehensive eye care services. Within its walls, specialized pediatric eye care services such as Vision Therapy and Myopia Management flourish, reflecting her commitment to holistic patient care.
As a pediatric optometrist, her focus lies in behavioral optometry, where she’s delved into creating a specialized Vision Therapy kit tailored to tackle visual behavioral disorders. Additionally, she holds a role as a senior consultant optometrist at Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital in Ghaziabad, extending her expertise in the field. Following her fellowship in Optometry at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute in 2000, she became a consultant optometrist at Dr. Shroff’s Eye Hospital in Delhi. As one of the pioneering members, she contributed significantly to the establishment of the Low Vision Clinic, Contact Lens Clinic, and Squint Clinic. Notably, she initiated fellowship programs across various specialties at Shroff’s Hospital, leading as the head of all optometry training programs from 2004 to 2007.
In 2007, she began her tenure at the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, serving as a consultant optometrist. Her contributions were pivotal in the development and standardization of the national-level optometry program. Moreover, she has authored numerous papers and articles focusing on Orthoptics, Pediatric Optometry, Low Vision Management, and Specialized Contact Lenses, which have been published in both national and international journals. Her dedication extends to active involvement in optometry Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs on both national and international platforms
